Art love

Every now and then I’ll catch a glimpse of a piece of art that speaks to my heart. These fleeting images spark something within and if I had enough money I’d buy them on the spot. Afterall isn’t that what art is supposed to inspire? A primal need? Something that visually speaks to the soul?

We were watching True Blood the other night and I fell in love with the painting that is hung in the Dallas vampire house. I’ve been searching the internet for information about the artist but haven’t found anything yet. I love red and I love this simple, deconstructed look. For some reason it resonates with me.

I’ve also developed a fondness for the seascapes painted by Miodrag Jankovic – in particular one called Bad Weather Coming. I love the bruised and battered look of the sky and the storm it promises. I’m not sure how much this would cost but no doubt it is more than what I have. Le Sigh. One day.
